Computer Arts Magazine Cover Competition: Top 30!
Since starting my course at Glasgow Clyde College, I have been getting Computer Arts Magazine.
I remember I first bought an issue as part of an assignment in our ‘Intro to Magazine Design’ class. The assignment was simple β have a look in the shops and bring in examples of what you think good magazine design layout is.
At the time, I didn’t really realise just how good the magazine content was, I just really liked the layout. Fast forward three years to now and I have a pretty big collection of issues and never miss a month. I keep saying I am going to get a subscription but I am old fashioned and love nipping to the shops to get it.
Last year they ran a competition in partnership with D&AD New Blood for readers (current students / recent graduates) to have their design on the cover of their ‘New Talent’ issue. I didn’t enter β probably due to feeling like I wasn’t quite ready but I kept up to date with the entries and loved the lemon scented winning cover design.
So, inspired by last year and with another year of studies under my belt, I thought “why not?”…
Super chuffed to say that my entry has made it to the top 30 and has been featured on Creative Bloq!
Really pleased to get this far. You can read a bit more about my concept and feast your eyes on the other 29 designs that have made itΒ here.
Always really interesting and inspiring to see how other designers interprit a brief π
