Leyla Josephine – Website and Logo
Glasgow based performance poet, Leyla Josephine recently got in touch to see if I could work on a website and some branding for her. When we first started discussing the project, she had a Facebook and a Twitter but no real home for her poetry and was in need of a website and a brand for herself. I think it’s pretty important to have these things, especially when you are dealing with booking agents etc – a website and professional email address can be the difference between being taken seriously and not.
It was fun to work with someone who has a pretty good idea of what they want and thankfully, Leyla has pretty good design taste – she even shares a favourite colour combination with myself (grey and turquoise fyi!). As she spends much of her time jotting down ideas for poetry, she wanted her logo to be handwritten and I created a couple of styles for her to look at. You can visit take a wee look at the website here. Below is the final logo she decided on. It was fun to do something by hand!
