Kinetic Typography Animation

As part of my second year studying Graphic Design, I have been taking a class in 2D Animation. Having dabbled in traditional frame by frame animation before (and my goodness it takes ages), I was keen to start learning how to use After Effects. I can’t lie, as with any new piece of software it can be a little overwhelming but Youtube has quickly become my best friend for help and tutorials. (Internet, I love you).

I’m currently working on a 20 second clip about someone missing out on the goings on of the world due to being too obsessed with their phone. This is the epic (I’m being sarcastic) end sequence to my masterpiece.

Kinetic typography is everywhere at the minute, especially in those fancy lyric videos musicians upload. It may only be 5 seconds long and have no sound (that will come later!) but I am happy with the results. Progress!
